Amanda Garcia Russell
Communications & Marketing Strategy
Founder & President, Outlaw Strategic

Amanda Garcia Russell is the founder and president of Outlaw Strategic, where she helps agricultural organizations solve complex challenges, strengthen their communications, and turn strategy into action. With 15 years of experience in agricultural communications and marketing and a decade working in public affairs, Amanda brings a unique combination of communications expertise, industry insight and strategic problem-solving to Western United Dairies.

As WUD’s communications and marketing partner, Amanda works across nearly every facet of the organization. She leads communications strategy, branding and marketing, digital communications, social media and website management; produces and hosts the Seen & Herd podcast; supports sponsor and member relations; coordinates event communications and promotion; and works alongside WUD’s leadership and public affairs team on legislative, regulatory and emerging industry issues. She also leads WUD’s presence at major industry events, including the organization’s annual World Ag Expo exhibit.

Amanda’s role often begins well before there is a message to communicate. She works closely with WUD leadership to examine challenges at the organizational level, identify what’s really driving an issue, and develop a practical strategy to address it. Known for seeing both the big picture and the individual pieces needed to move things forward, Amanda has a knack for making complicated problems manageable. That same approach shapes her communications work, where she translates complex policy, regulatory, and industry issues into clear, relatable messaging grounded in an intuitive understanding of agricultural audiences and the people WUD serves.

Amanda founded Outlaw Strategic in 2015 and has spent her career working with agricultural associations, advocacy organizations and other mission-driven organizations. Through Outlaw, she helps agricultural organizations align their strategy, clarify their value and move forward.

Amanda holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications from Oklahoma State University. She lives in California’s Central Valley with her husband and son. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and traveling with her family.
