
Jimmy Burroughs
North State Farmer Representative
In this role, Jimmy will serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for dairy farmers across Northern California. He will work directly with producers to support the implementation of key programs, including water quality permitting, the Dairy Farmer Technical Assistance Program (DTAP), vermifiltration and water quality enhancement projects, on-farm recharge practices, manure management systems, and air quality initiatives.
Jimmy brings over 30 years of hands-on experience as the owner and operator of a 1,500-head dairy and 500-acre almond ranch in Denair, California. He is widely respected for his expertise in herd management, environmental compliance, nutrient management, labor oversight, and regulatory reporting. Jimmy has served on the boards of the Central Counties Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the Merced County Farm Bureau, and he is a 2009 graduate of the WUD Future Leaders Program. Most recently, he successfully coordinated an AMMP grant for his own manure separation system.
