| The California Department of Food and Agriculture has scheduled a Producer Review Board (PRB) meeting for Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
The meeting will be held in person only at the Cal Expo Clubhouse in Sacramento. The agenda includes the introduction of new board members, updates on the Quota Administration Program, financial and enforcement audits, quota assessment discussions, and consideration of several hardship requests. Public participation is encouraged, and time will be provided for comment on each agenda item. CDFA plans to solicit nominees to serve on the PRB at the upcoming Board meeting on September 22nd. Currently there are three vacancies, and an additional three more terms are set to expire at the end of 2025. For those terms expiring at the end of the year, we will go through our usual nomination process to fill those vacancies. Specifically, CDFA highly encourages the nomination of producers in the Northern California region pursuant to Food & Agricultural Code (FAC) 62719, which calls for ”proportionate representation to all areas of the state.” There are currently no producers from Northern California serving on the Board. Due to the number of vacancies on the Board and the number of questions CDFA have received regarding the nomination process for PRB members, we created an informational FAQs page for the Board nomination process, which can be found here: https://www.cdfa.ca.gov/dairy/pdf/prb/2025/PRBN_Nominations_FAQs_20250905.pdf. Quota Administration Program staff are happy to answer any questions regarding membership on the Board or the nomination process. Program staff can be reached at (916) 900-5012 or pooling@cdfa.ca.gov. |
