The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (District) is pleased to announce the Small Farmer Certified PreOwned Agricultural Equipment Pilot Program is now open and accepting applications to replace Tier 0 or 1 diesel agricultural equipment with used Tier 3 or cleaner equipment. This Pilot Program is available for small operations only and will be funded based on the total acreage of all of the applicant’s agricultural operations in the San Joaquin Valley. The incentive is not to exceed 80% of all eligible replacement equipment costs. General eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Total acreage of all of the applicants agricultural operations in the San Joaquin Valley must be 100 acres or less.
  • Old equipment must have an Uncontrolled (Tier 0), or Tier 1 engine with a horsepower rating of 25 or greater.
  • Old equipment will be destroyed.
  • Replacement equipment must be Tier 3 or cleaner and have a functional hour meter with between 50110,000 hours.
  • Replacement equipment must be purchased from an authorized equipment dealer, private party transactions are ineligible.
  • Replacement equipment must pass an eligibility evaluation by the dealer (criteria provided in the application packet).
